How AI technology increases productivity in organizations

Street signs instructing where to go in case of a Tsunami started popping up in the Tel-Aviv area over the past year. These signs remind me every single day of Zest’s mission to solve and moderate the Tsunami of information we’re facing daily.

Over recent years, we’ve been experiencing exponential growth of information in our private and professional lives. Our brain capacity stayed the same, but our information processing requirements grew to an unbearable state.

The volume of information reduces our productivity, forces us to make isolated decisions, and burns out our creativity.

I was invited to speak about digital life and productivity at the Technovation TLV conference last week. I discussed how Zest solves information silos within organizations and makes knowledge workers 20% more productive.

My pitch transcript is written below, and I invite you to free yourself from information overload and use Zest Assistant.

The freedom from information overload is in proactive technology.

Hi, my name is Idan Yalovich, I’m the CEO and the tech-partner of Zest. With Zest, we make the organization information accessible across any tool, time, and team.

Let me tell you something before we dive into Zest.

A slide showing that the amount of information produced today is growing much faster than the human capacity to consume the information.

The way we’ve been taught to consume information is perfectly suitable to a world that no longer exists.

We have been taught that in order to complete our task, we need to gather information and then execute. We need to collect pieces of information and then do our job.

It was suitable to 2010 when humanity produced 2 Zettabytes per day. But in 2020, the amount of data we produced is 30 times more than in 2010. 59 Zettabytes per day. And in 2024, we’ll produce 149 Zettabytes per day.

Our brain capacity stayed the same, but the amount of information – smoothly insane.

A slide stating "The information in organizations is scattered everywhere" with logos of popular online platforms like Monday.com, Google Drive, Zendesk, and more.

One billion knowledge workers spend 20% of their time searching for that information we produce. It impacts our productivity, it forces us to make isolated decisions, and it burns out our creativity.

The information in organizations is scattered everywhere.

For instance, for the marketing departments, we have Monday.com, Adobe Cloud, and Trello. For the engineering department, we have Dropbox, Jira, GitHub. For the sales department, we have Salesforce and Zendesk. And for everyone, we have OneDrive and Google Drive.

Slide stating "Searching is not enough. It is suitable to a world where the information is centralized and limited."

Anyone can search for whatever they want, anywhere and any time. But search is not enough. The biggest problem with search is that it’s passive.

To search, you need to answer two questions:

  1. Where should I search for the information I’m looking for?
  2. What am I looking for?

Answering these two questions costs you 20% of your time, so to get what you need, you actually need to know too much.

So, search is not enough. And it is suitable to a world where information is centralized and limited. And as I said earlier, it is suitable to a world that no longer exists.

Slide stating that "the solution is to proactively deliver the information." AI does the searching for so we can focus on creative thinking, making data-based decisions and doing our job

The solution is stored in the tech.

With technology and AI, we can make the information find you. We can make the information proactively be delivered to you.

AI should proactively deliver the information, and we should delegate the two questions – “where?” and “what?” – to the AI.

AI will search the information, it will find what fits, and then proactively deliver it to you.

We will do our job. We’ll make data-based decisions and focus on creative thinking.

Slide stating "unifies information sources and proactively delivers the information to your tools" with logos of popular online tools being brought together with Zest.

At Zest, we make the organization information accessible across any tool, time, and team. Wherever it’s saved, wherever you work.

We unify information sources and proactively deliver the information to your tools.

It means that if you have an item on Monday.com, we will parse, understand it, and go back, in the background, search for the information you need and proactively attach it to the item itself.

The same goes for Slack, Trello, and Gmail.

Slide showing that step one is to connect information sources, like Google Drive, Dropbox, and more. There is a screenshot of the Zest dashboard where you can connect these tools.

First, you need to connect the information sources. We support Google Drive, Dropbox, GitHub, Bitbucket, InVision, Zendesk, and more.

One-click, and you’re connected.

Slide showing that step two is to connect working tools, like Gmail, Outlook, Asana, and more. There is a screenshot of the Zest dashboard where you can connect these tools.

Second, connect your tools. We support Gmail, Monday.com, Slack, or Microsoft Teams.

Now, you have both sides of the rope connected.

Slide showing that step three is to let Zest Assistant do the work of searching for the information and bringing it to you.

Then, you just need to delegate the work to the AI. Zest Assistant will securely analyze your tasks and messages and suggest documents, assets, and relevant information to you.

The artificial assistant knows the entire organization and suggests content that you may not even know exists.

With Zest Assistant, there’s no app-switching, no need to ask colleagues where something is saved, you don’t need to make isolated decisions, and there will be no information silos for the organization. A designer won’t start working on the pricing page without having the marketing statistics in hand.

Zest operates as a SaaS and On-Prem solution. We ensure that all sensitive information is secured and encrypted – so all of your sensitive information is part of your network, part of your organization.

Slide with images of happy employees and the line "With Zest, knowledge workers turn twenty percent of their time from searching for information to one hundred percent productivity"

With Zest, knowledge workers turn 20% of their time from searching for information to 100% productivity.

And one last thing – the freedom from information overload is in proactive technology.

Thank you.
